So, I agree with Paul, "silly love songs" are great! But... honestly there is more to life than love. There is the life you can see and the life that you live. There are politics, cruelty, death, and nature in the world. Why do we focus all of our energy and attention towards love, when, as Pink Floyd says it, we are "one day closer to death"? I honestly think we are all are terrified. We are horrified at the thought of being alone, not just when we die, but at parties and when we come home to visit the family. We want to have love, to make others love us, and make ourselves look and feel better. You can see this all of this in our music. Robotic, emotionless voices screaming about how he broke up with me and now I'll get wasted and find some bitches to turn down.
So deep, naat. This is the generation barrier, you you think a married 50 year old would listen to that? Making people actually think about the world, awareness is a key part of living. The media has made us numb, and arrogant.
I AM SOUNDING LIKE THOMAS HOBBES. whoops. Good thing is, I am applying school to life.
Sorry for the rant...
